Italian Dinner

How nice of Silvia to make a fabulous Italian dinner for us! I for one would totally support opening a restaurant. Everything was delicious.. and the proudly presented Tiramisu was incredible. I wish I could ask for the recipe! So, another fun night, not only with marvelous food but also with great company. Got to catch up on things and chit chat.. Gosh, how I wish this were not our last quarter.. Can't believe we're going home in 2 months!

All That Jazz!

Went for some jazzy night out at Greenmill today. Recommended by friends who have been there and loved it. Every night they have different bands playing. Given that we know nothing about any of them, we just picked a day that everyone was free. At the entrance, we were greeted by a big guy checking our IDs. And then he started saying sawadee krab to everyone (of course seeing our passports). Many Thais must come here often I guess. So we got ourselves a table right in front of the stage. It wasn't as crowded as it would be on weekends.

There were three guys in the band, and all were so into the music they were playing. Some of them I really liked, especially the one with some Bossa tunes. The others were a bit sleepy for me - not sure if that was the reason or the wine :P I didn't bring my camera with me, so these shots were from my (old) mobile phone. Low quality, I know. But gotta do with what I had.. That's probably a sign to get a new phone, eiei.. Maybe when I go back..

Anywho, we stayed for about an hour and left when they stopped for a break. Took a souvenir photo shot in front of the place, just to keep as evidence. Been there, done that! :P It was nice, although I might have expected too much. Perhaps I should give it a try again on fri/sat nights.. Heard it's supposed to be super packed..

Sakura Bloom

Not in Japan, but in D.C. where I spent this past weekend. I looked forward to going there during this period, just because there is this cherry blossom festival. But next moment I realized the bloom period started last week. It peaked on Wednesday before I arrived, and we were not fortunate with the weather. Apparently most of the cherry blossoms fell with the rain and wind. But with all the effort already put in, we tried to capture as much as possible :) At least we managed to catch some sun and get some nice lighting..

by Tidal Basin..

probably the last tree with so much Sakura remaining

Peru Collection

Pictures from the peru trip is up, finally. Took me a while to finish the whole collection.. hopefully people would enjoy them. Again my collection is more of scenery rather than people :) I wouldn't be surprised if after a while people get bored and give up.. To me, there were so many things I loved about this trip. And I tried to capture as much as possible. Of course, sometimes it's difficult.. you lose the moment and it's gone. Just like on a gloomy day.. and the sun comes out for 10 seconds and disappear into the clouds.. that's it. No more sunshine.. So I would end up with a gloomy picture.. but that's just reality :)
